Formed in the early 1990s, Metaphor evolved from a tribute act into a recording progressive-rock group and released four studio albums between 1999 and 2019. Their albums (including Entertaining Thanatos and The Pearl) received positive attention in progressive-rock outlets and were issued via TropeAudio/Bandcamp. The band is no longer active as a unit, though individual members remain active in other projects.
