The Great Divide formed in 1992 and released their independent debut Goin' for Broke (1994) before signing to Atlantic Records and issuing Break in the Storm and Revolutions in the late 1990s. Original members included Mike McClure, Kelley Green, Scott Lester and J.J. Lester; after lineup changes and a hiatus they reunited in 2011, released Providence in 2022, made their Grand Ole Opry debut on July 10, 2024, and were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in April 2025.
