In theory, Parental Advisory stickers and ratings system are meant to protect children from prurient and upsetting content designed to warp young minds into mush. Clearly, they missed the mark with this dose of nightmare fuel, the Stanley Kramer-produced live-action Dr. Seuss-penned musical fantasia, THE 5,000 FINGERS OF DR. T. Originally conceived as a parable to post-war fascism, DR. T finds young music enthusiast Bart pitted in a dream realm against the eponymous taskmaster who has designs to have 500 boys play his multi-keyed piano. (Jake Isgar)
