The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, Inc.(TBAAL) was founded by Curtis King in Dallas, TX which was chartered and incorporated Nov. 23, 1977 as a nonprofit. Due to the ongoing construction and renovation of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas, The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) is temporarily operating from The Women’s Museum in historic Fair Park.
